President
steve jimenez
Steve is an attorney at Gonzalez Law Firm practicing civil litigation, family law, and estate planning. He graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and then earned a Juris Doctor degree from the William S. Boyd School of Law. During his tenure in law school, Steve served as the Vice-President for La Voz and also Vice-President of the Student Bar Association, representing part-time students. Steve also served as the Legislative Extern for the Nevada Hispanic Legislative Caucus during the 79th (2017) Legislative Session. Also as an active member of the Hispanic National Bar Association, Steve has attended and volunteered at multiple Corporate Counsel Conferences.

Martha Menendez
Martha is a human rights and immigration attorney with over a decade of experience in asylum and refugee law. She serves as a Legal Manager at Justice in Motion, where she helps lead cross-border legal advocacy efforts to ensure migrants and people deported from the United States can meaningfully participate in legal processes affecting their rights and families.
As the daughter of immigrants and a first-generation American, Martha’s work is grounded in a deep belief that strong communities are essential to dignity, due process, and lasting justice. In addition to her advocacy, she supports the Boyd School of Law’s community service program, helping shape opportunities for law students to engage in community-based legal service and public interest work.

Melissa corral
Melissa is a staff attorney at the Community Advocacy Office (CAO) since June 2022 where she focuses on Immigration Removal Defense. Prior to working at the CAO, she worked at Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada for four years, where she developed expertise in immigration and family law. She was a law clerk to the Honorable Linda Marquis in the Family Division of the Clark County Eighth Judicial District Court and a student attorney at the UNLV Immigration Clinic. Raised in Durango, Mexico, and a native Spanish speaker, she earned her undergraduate and law degrees from UNLV.

Carolina Rondon
Carolina is an immigrant and immigration attorney dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate the U.S. immigration system with clarity and compassion.
She earned her law degree from Universidad Santo Tomás in Colombia and continued her legal education at the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law. Before founding her firm, she gained extensive experience in immigration and international business law.
Today, Carolina focuses exclusively on immigration law. Through integrity, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep personal understanding of the immigrant experience, she is committed to helping her clients achieve legal status with confidence and dignity.

priscila venzor
Priscila is an Immigrant Justice Corps Fellow with the UNLV Immigration Clinic, representing unaccompanied children in deportation proceedings. Priscila graduated from Boyd with dual-degrees in law and social work. Her family immigrated to the United States from Chihuahua, Mexico. The combination of her personal and professional experiences has strengthened her passion for breaking down barriers in access to justice. She has worked with immigrant communities both as a legal advocate and as a social service provider. Through her leadership as president of Boyd's Immigrant Rights Coalition during her time in law school, she facilitated hundreds of hours of community-service for immigrant communities in the Las Vegas valley. She also spearheaded the effort to change policies to ensure that legal aid nonprofits across the state of Nevada are guaranteed interpreters for their pro bono cases.

heron vazquez III
As a Las Vegas native for 18 years, Heron has made the Mojave Desert his home. He earned his B.A. in Political Science at UNLV and J.D. from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV. In his second year of law school, he served as the treasurer of La Voz, Boyd’s Latino Law Student Association. He began serving clients in the areas of real property and personal injury after starting his solo practice in 2021

Laura Lomeli
Laura is a personal injury attorney born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Sociology, from Nevada State University. She received her Juris Doctor from the William S. Boyd School of Law, where she was actively involved in community-focused leadership and advocacy.
During law school, Laura served on the board of La Voz, the Latino Law Student Association, and on the Board of the Immigrant Rights Coalition. She graduated with the Highest Pro Bono Honors distinction, completing over 100 hours of pro bono legal work.
Laura is fluent in both English and Spanish. She is a first-generation Mexican-American and the first attorney in her family.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys spending time with her family and her two dogs, Leo and Bobbi. She also enjoys traveling, shopping, and collecting vintage handbags.

Andale 5K Director
Elva Castañeda
Elva is an attorney at Kaempfer Crowell, where her practice focuses on administrative and regulatory law, gaming law, cannabis law, litigation, and privileged licensing. She serves as Chair of the Ándale Foundation, leading the planning and execution of the annual ¡Ándale! 5K Run/Walk. Elva also serves on the board of the Young Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Nevada and oversees her firm’s high school internship program.
Elva previously served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Cristina D. Silva and the Honorable Tierra Jones in the Eighth Judicial District Court. She earned her Juris Doctor from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she served as President of the Student Bar Association, worked as a student attorney in the UNLV Immigration Clinic, and received both the Dean’s Award and the Pro Bono Honors Award. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of California, Riverside.

Andrés Ojeda Morales
Andrés is a Career Law Clerk with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada, serving in both Reno and Las Vegas. He recently relocated to Reno and is licensed to practice law in a U.S. territory, with plans to seek admission to the Nevada Bar. Andrés earned his J.D. from the USC Gould School of Law and an LL.M. in International Business and Economic Law, along with a Certificate in Securities and Financial Law, from the Georgetown University Law Center. He received his B.A. in History, with minors in LGBT Studies and Latin American Studies, from the University of California, Los Angeles.He previously clerked for four federal judges, litigated in federal court, and interned in the Corporate Department of the Washington, D.C. office of Paul Hastings LLP.
An openly gay Mexican and Puerto Rican attorney, Andrés is committed to LGBTQ+ Latina/o advocacy and to supporting attorneys and law students from underrepresented communities. Outside the office, he trains in mixed martial arts and has trained at gyms in Puerto Rico, New York City, Washington, D.C., and other cities.

Beatriz Aguirre
Beatriz is an election and political law associate at Herrera Arellano LLP. She counsels candidates, nonprofits, and political organizations on campaign finance, corporate compliance, and nonprofit law.
Before joining the firm, Beatriz served as a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, where her work focused on policing and investigations involving law enforcement agencies nationwide. She previously clerked for Justice James W. Hardesty at the Nevada Supreme Court and for Judge Jennifer A. Dorsey at the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada.
Beatriz earned her J.D. from UNLV’s William S. Boyd School of Law and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Tania Gonzalez Contreras
Tania is a lifelong Nevada resident, having lived in both Northern and Southern Nevada. Shaped by a family that immigrated from Durango, Mexico, she draws inspiration from her heritage and community. She earned a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies and a B.A. in Criminal Justice with a Law and Justice specialization from UNR, and a J.D. from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV. She served as a Legal Fellow for the Nevada Hispanic Legislative Caucus during the 82nd Legislative Session and later as a law clerk in the First Judicial District Court in Carson City. She began her legal career at the Nevada Legislature during the 83rd Legislative Session in Carson City and now serves as an Attorney in the Office of General Counsel at UNR, handling both transactional and litigation matters.
Committed to mentorship and community engagement, Tania became involved with the NVLBA in law school and has served as Sponsorship Chair for the ¡Ándale! 5K Race since 2025. As President of Boyd’s Latino Law Student Association, La Voz, she led the expansion of the Southern Huellas Mentorship Program to Northern Nevada to address the lack of legal mentorship opportunities.

Magali Gonzalez-Salas
Magali is a native Nevadan. She was raised in rural Dayton, Nevada and is a proud daughter of Mexican parents. Magali attended the University of Nevada-Reno where she received bachelor's degrees in political science and criminal justice and a master's degree in justice management.
Magali attended Widener University Commonwealth Law School and was admitted to the Nevada bar October 2025 and is currently a judicial law clerk.

Rudy Hernandez Camacho
Rudy is an Associate Litigation Attorney at Claggett & Sykes Trial Lawyers where he focuses his practice on catastrophic injury and large loss litigation. Rudy graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, where he earned his bachelor's degree, before attending the William S. Boyd School of Law where he graduated with Highest Pro Bono Honors and received the Dean’s Award for his involvement in the community and the law school. Rudy is the proud son of immigrants from Mexico and is the first in his family to obtain a college and post-grad degree. In his free time, Rudy enjoys watching/playing soccer, riding horses, caring for his very needy dogs, and spending time with family.
